These are concept and development posters. Each poster represents characteristics from Otara. For example, the third poster is about the police, as i made a gradient with blue + red and blurred it because that’s all you hear and see on my street.

These backgrounds i made myself with spray paint. I used some of the backgrounds in my poster designs.

Final Poster 1

The concept behind this poster is about movement. In Otara there is a lot of movement going on with people, dogs, cars, helicopters, bikes and police. Otara is a very busy suburb with a lot things going on during the day and night. So, i decided to use the different blur effects and layering it on top of each other to portray that fast movement.

Final Poster 2

The concept behind this poster is about tagging and pride. Otara home of the brave is a saying that a lot of people from the hood rep in either raps or conversations discussing about different suburbs. This saying usually symbolizes pride as people are proud from where they’re from even though considering the bad rep we have. So for the background i used one of the textures i created with spray paint to add that graffiti element.
